Entrepreneurship Support Program for MSMEs Consisting of Ex-construction Workers of the Batang Power Plant

25 OCTOBER 2022

The progress of the project development has an impact on the reduction of the number of workers or the demobilization of workers, which will be carried out in stages in the Batang Power Plant Project.  This situation may cause negative impacts and new social problems for the project and surrounding communities due to loss of livelihood, changes in income, industrial relations and even inter-community conflicts. IIGF is committed to participate in sustainable economic development to improve the quality of life and the environment, which is beneficial to both the company itself, the local community, and society at large as support for the implementation of the 17 SDGs values of sustainable development to form a society without poverty as one of the goals of sustainable development. As a form of concern and attention to the environment and community around the Batang Power Plant, IIGF implemented the CSR Program for Community Empowerment to support the entrepreneurship of local MSMEs of ex-construction workers demobilized from the Batang Power Plant in Central Java.

The purpose of the CSR Program for Community Empowerment to Support Entrepreneurship of Ex-Construction Workers Demobilization of Batang Power Plant is to minimize the direct impact of the demobilization of construction workers and to reduce the impact that may occur due to the transition from the construction phase to the operational phase. The target beneficiaries of the CSR Program for Community Empowerment of Entrepreneurship Support of Ex-Construction Workers Demobilization of Batang Power Plant are 40 local MSMEs around the construction of the Batang Power Plant project. This CSR program is expected to provide benefits and improve economic standards and quality of life.
