As one of the Special Mission Vehicles (SMV) of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, IIGF is mandated to provide government guarantees under the Government-to-Business Partnership (PPP) scheme. In addition, IIGF provides guarantees for direct loans from state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to international financial institutions, as well as guarantees for the National Economic Recovery (PEN) Program, as well as corporate guarantees. Furthermore, IIGF also plays a role in assisting with project preparation and transaction assistance/Project Development Facility (PDF).
As of December 2025, IIGF had provided guarantees for 60 projects (37 PPP projects and 23 non-PPP projects) across seven sectors: roads, electricity, telecommunications, drinking water, tourism, transportation, and energy conservation, with a total investment value of over IDR 705 trillion.
