The SATRIA project is one of the efforts of the Ministry of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia in resolving the lack of connectivity in government public services throughout Indonesia, especially in the 3T (Disadvantaged, Frontier, and Outermost) and Border Areas. There are more than 149,400 public service points consisting of educational facilities, local government, defense and security administration, and health facilities throughout Indonesia that will be served by this satellite.

For information, the SATRIA project has a capacity of 150 Gbps using High Throughput Satellite (HTS) technology with Ka-Band frequency. The satellite manufacturing company involved is Thales Alenia Space, using launchers from the Ariane 5 Upper / 6.2 or the Falcon 9-5500. For the orbit slot using the Indonesian administrator from the PSN operator (1460E).

It is hoped that in the future, the benefits of the SATRIA Multifunction Satellite Project can be enjoyed by various education sectors by supporting the provision of fast internet services in 93,400 elementary, junior high, high school, vocational schools, madrasah and Islamic boarding schools, the health sector by serving 3,700 points of Puskesmas, Hospitals, and health services. Other, the Polhunkam sector (Politics, Law and Human Rights) by assisting the TNI / PORI in facilitating fast internet services at 3,900 points to meet the needs of security administration, the Regional Government sector by supporting 47,900 village / sub-district and sub-district offices in Indonesia will be connected online so that electronic-based government services (e-government) can be implemented quickly and effectively as well as the financial sector by supporting the acceleration of digitalization of ultra-micro financing (UMi) distribution, in order to accelerate the realization of inclusive finance throughout Indonesia
